Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the terms and supplies its result. We do not keep or log those names, case numbers, or other query terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor sends an email, we retain it as needed to respond and manage the exchange. The message is not shared beyond our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine technical details may be collected when the site loads. They help operate and assess the service.
- Pages viewed, visit length, and page-view timestamps
- Browser name, version, device type, and operating system
- The device's assigned IP address
- The referring website, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Analytics tools may use them to combine traffic information, such as which pages are popular and where visits end. A browser can block cookies, though doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
The collected information supports ordinary site operation and improvement.
- Diagnosing errors and security or performance problems
- Keeping pages available and responsive
- Sending a search request to the provider selected by the visitor
- Assessing which reference pages are useful
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Otero County Court Docket does not maintain, sell, compile, or host a personal case-record database. It publishes general directions to the Otero Combined Court clerk, Colorado trial courts, the official hearing search, and municipal custodians. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a file about another person. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside businesses power the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices govern any information entered into those tools. We do not control those policies. A visitor should review the provider's terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Otero Combined Court, the Colorado Judicial Branch, municipal websites, legal-help resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination site's privacy policy applies. Review it before sharing personal information.
Advertising services may also use their own systems to measure activity across websites and tailor ads. That processing is controlled by those services.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to the following recipients when needed for their stated functions.
- Analytics and advertising services used on the site
- Outside providers that process a search the visitor submits
- Government or law-enforcement authorities responding to a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information within our control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Colorado and federal privacy or consumer-protection law may provide rights based on the data and circumstances. Court case-record access is separately governed by Chief Justice Directive 05-01 and Public Access to Information and Records rules; the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. sections 24-72-201 through 206, is the general state public-record framework. For information held by this private site, a visitor may be able to:
- Request deletion of personal data we maintain
- Ask for access to a copy of that data
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of a form of processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. A new version will appear here with its effective date, so visitors should review the current text periodically.
